Today was the kick off to the level 5 competition season for Cory. The weather has been rather sketchy this weekend so we were up and out of the house nice and early. The roads weren't as icy as I expected so we got to the competition neighborhood way too early. We stopped at a nearby Starbucks to have some warm drinks while we waited. Even Rachel gave up her Saturday morning sleep to attend the meet.

Mom and Gin came to town to see Cory compete. You can see the snowy weather in the backround. Burrrr!

Rachel had her digital camera that captured a few good shots. You can't use flash photograpy so not many of the shots came out. This was one of my favorites. During his parallel bar routine he has to swing to a hand stand three times in a row. I don't think I took a breath through any of them.

This is Cory with a few of his best pals on the team. He ended up doing quite well for the day. He got a gold medal on High Bar, a bronze on Vault, and three fourth place ribbons on Pommel, Rings, and Parallel Bars. A very nice showing for his first meet of the year. He moved up a level from last year and the tricks are much harder.
