Camping @ stampede..

Cory and i went camping with Matt and his sisters this weekend for the 4th. It was really quite a fun time. Especially because Cory has never been really camping before. Here are some of the best shots from the weekend.

Cory's first dip in the lake... it was a bit chilly...

It was pretty fun the whole time, because at the camp site some of our camp friends set up a little volleyball court, which we used just about 5 times a day. It was awesome.

Because of the fires, there was no fireworks this year, so we had sparklers instead!
And of course we made smores...

This was my bestfriend the whole time camping. Logan, Matt's nephew is about 2 years old, and he loved Dixie. I believe his phrase of the weekend was, "I love my Dixie" He and I both got a little sick this weekend. Which would make sense because he was on my lap the entire time.

One of the best parts of the camping was that we got to go on Matt's sisters boat.

Kendel (Matt's neice) and I rode on the tube together, which was pretty fun. Cory is still a little afraid of the water, for some reason. So he was not too interested in doing the water sports. But he just loved ridin on the boat. We also got a chance to ride on the jet ski.. Cory LOVED it. At first he had a little bit of a panic in his voice, but then realized it was all fun.

One of Cory's highlights of the weekend, was his encounters with the deer. The deer at this campground, have been fed from people before. The deer were really brave, and loved gram crackers. In this picture, he told me to take a picture of him HUGGING the deer.

This was his reaction when he found out I got the picture of him hugging the deer.

Here is a deer they made friends with. I think this is one of my favorite pictures because it looks like the three of them are just walking along together like a bunch of friends.

This was right about when my camera died. This was also right before Cory attempted to "ride" the deer. This was not my idea. But after this shot, I looked up and saw Cory bear-hugging the deers behind, and he rode the deer for about 10 seconds. It was actually a funny sight when he got bucked off. It made for great conversation around the campfire.

free weekend

Rachel went camping this weekend with Cory so I was left home home alone. I found myself with plenty to do around the house. I purchased several pieces of furniture last weekend at a church garage sale. The rack in the center of the wall is my new wine rack. Its hard to see the detail but its lovely, made of forest green iron. next to it on the right is an art desk that will work well as our computer desk for now I moved the love seat on the wall that used to hold the computer desk. It gives the room a whole new look
This is the view coming out of the kitchen.
The white chair is a Rachel pick. She has nothing that match it but I have to say it is nice looking all by itself. Also in the shot is my new end table.

One of the coolest things I scored on was my kitchen cart. It has white tile top that matches by little dinner table.

The sun was killing the view but underneath there are several spots for wine bottles. I don't really drink much wine but I like to purchase bottle while on vacation as keepsakes.

Its hard to see them but the vase is full of daisies from my garden.

When I was done with the livingroom and kitchen, I moved on the Cory's room.

At the garage sale I found a hat rack that serves well for Cory's medals.

Then the real job started when I moved into Rachel's room.

I had to take pictures, I was so proud of how it looked. I should have taken some before pictures. This sink area was covered before I started.
It feels so good to get things thoroughly clean.

something about a child sleeping

This picture was taken when Cory was five days old. He still looks so innocent, who would ever know the active kid that lives inside this peaceful look.
The flash woke him up so he humoured me with a few shots.
